Hope Rests in the Heart

Hope Rests in the Heart

Hello friends,

I’ve been reflecting a lot on hope lately. The world feels heavy at times, and it’s easy to forget that hope is something we can always return to. Writing this piece reminded me that hope isn’t something outside of us — it rests quietly in our hearts, waiting to be remembered.

Today, I want to share a simple practice that helps me reconnect to that inner hope when life feels overwhelming. My wish is that it brings you the same peace, calm, and strength it brings me.

There are days when my heart feels heavy. When hope seems distant, I feel disconnected — not just from others, but from myself. This is unusual for me, as I’ve always seen life through rose-colored glasses. I’ve always been able to find the good in people, in moments, in challenges. But in recent years, with so much pain and struggle in the world, I sometimes carry it all in my own heart.

What has carried me through is the wisdom of self-care practices. From a young age, I learned that daily rituals of meditation, yoga, and stillness keep me grounded. They remind me to return home to myself. And when I do, little by little, I rediscover hope — hope in me, in others, in life, and in the world.

Hope is never gone. It lies deep within us, even when the outside feels chaotic. We just need to pause and listen.

Try this today: Sit in stillness for 10–15 minutes. If you can, step outside. Listen to the birds — they are profound teachers in presence and resilience.

Breathe in: “I am.”
Breathe out: “Peace.”

Repeat until you feel yourself soften, until hope rises again.

  • I am peace.

  • I am calm.

  • I am love.

  • I am hope.

Keep your heart open. Hope is who you are.

Much love,
Lindsay
