Being thankful every day can shift the quality of your life in so many positive ways.
Gratitude turns what little you have into abundance.
Gratitude is so much more than saying thank you.
Gratitude changes your perspective of your world.
But yet you wonder how you can find the positive when everything seems so bleak?
Gratitude is an emotion like appreciation. The American Psychological Association (n.d.) defines this phenomenon as a sense of happiness and thankfulness in response to a fortunate happenstance or tangible gift.
One can experience gratitude for someone or something at a certain moment in time, and someone experience gratitude more long-term as a positive character trait.
Daily habits of gratitude and appreciation are one of the highest emotional states. When you cultivate gratitude, you're able to feel true joy and contentment, no matter what you have or don't have in your life. And when you are grateful for what you already have, you naturally attract more for which you will be grateful.
When you acknowledge the goodness in your life, you say yes to life. You affirm that, all in all, life is good and has elements that make it worth living. The acknowledgment that you have received something gratifies you, both by its presence and by the effort the giver put into choosing it.
Let’s practice gratitude with this mantra meditation today. We’ll use the Sanskrit mantra Kritajna Hum {krit-ah-nah hum}, which connects you to the joy that's hidden in plain view, patiently waiting to be seen. Repeat it outload 3 times, whisper it 3 times, and silently repeat it to yourself over and over. Feel the vibration of the mantra flowing into and out of you. Stay here for 10-15 minutes.
By practicing gratitude every day it helps you fall in love with the life you already have.
Much Love,
Lindsay
