It is #GratefulFriday
It's #gratefulFriday⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Spending time practicing gratitude helps us to open our hearts to the miracles the universe is just waiting to shower upon us. But we are often too busy and keep our hearts closed off to the wonders of the universe.
Let's spend a few minutes today and every day this week practicing gratitude. In this practice think of one thing you are grateful for and try to feel the gratitude, really feel it, embrace it. Don't just think it - you'll stay stuck in your head. Just think of one thing. If make a list you will drift out of your heart and right back into your head! Bring the feeling of gratitude into your heart.
So let's try it now. Take a long, slow, deep breath in. And gently let it go. Let's do it again. With each inhale feel your heart expand. With each exhale feel your heart begin to soften. Think of one thing or person that you are grateful. Just one thing. Start to feel that gratitude in your heart. It could be the beginning of a new day, something someone said or did, something you did or said to you to someone, the laugh of a child, a smile from a stranger, your breath.....Allow one thing that you are grateful for come into your heart. Or you can ask yourself "What am I grateful for?" and allow the answers to rise up in your heart. Stay here feeling the gratitude flow into you and out of you for a few minutes. And now take it deeper with this Sanskrit Mantra, Dhanya Vad {dahn-yah vahd}, which means when I'm grateful, I find grace. By looking for the blessings in my life, I open up a space of light in every experience; I open up the path for grace to flow. I make room in the middle of everything for gratitude. Stay here for 10 - 15 minutes.
When you feel stressed, practice breathing into your blessings until you're so full of gratitude that there's no room for anything else.
Much Love,
Lindsay
