Let Yourself Be Held

On gratitude, friendship, and the people who help us stand back up when we stumble.

Grateful Friday

This week, my heart has been full.

Full of gratitude for the people in my life who show up — again and again, in ways both large and small.

We all move through seasons that ask a great deal of us.

Seasons of uncertainty. Of change. Of needing more strength than we feel we have.

And in those seasons, something beautiful often happens.

The people who love us reach out to steady us.

When we stumble, they help us stand back up.

When we want to step back, they gently encourage us forward.

They see us. They hear us. They remind us who we are when we are too tired to remember it ourselves.

So often we try to move through our hardest moments appearing strong.

Trying to carry everything ourselves. Trying not to be a burden.

But when we allow ourselves to be held — truly held — something shifts.

We remember that we are not alone.

We remember that we are loved — not for being perfect, not for holding it all together, but simply for being exactly who we are.

And the people who love us do something extraordinary.

They bring out our greatness.

They reflect back to us the best version of ourselves — the version we sometimes lose sight of in the middle of a difficult season.

They remind us of our own strength.

They love every part of us — including the parts that struggle, that doubt, that feel afraid.

This Grateful Friday, I am simply grateful.

Grateful for the friends who see me. Who hear me. Who love every part of me.

Grateful for the quiet, steady presence of people who show up without being asked.

Grateful for the reminder that we are never truly doing this alone.

And if you are reading this — wherever you are in your own life right now — I hope you take a moment today to feel grateful for the people who hold you.

The ones who see you. The ones who hear you. The ones who love every part of you.

And if you are the one doing the holding for someone else right now — thank you.

You may never know how much your presence means.

But it means everything.

Take a breath. Let yourself feel held.

Much Love, Lindsay 🤍
