It is #GratefulFriday
It's #gratefulfriday
When you're feeling down or troubled, a different perspective can help you to shift your mindset and begin to see things differently. It can help you to see the beauty in your life, even if it is just for a glimpse.
Try pausing and feeling gratitude for the simple things that you take for granted that can bring you so much joy. By slowing down enough to notice and appreciate these things, you can begin to find joy in the moment - the coffee you are drinking this morning, the gift of a friendship, the musical notes of a song on the radio.
Sometimes it can be difficult to quiet our minds and to notice and be thankful for everything you have in your life. It can be very helpful and centering to meditate repeating a word or mantra out loud. It not only helps to focus your mind, but the vibration of the mantra warms your heart and flows throughout every cell in your body.
Let's try it now using the Sanskrit Mantra "Yum." Yum is the vibration of the heart chakra. Repeat it out loud gently and softly. Allow the vibration to settle and fade out before you repeat it again. It's just like when you drop a pebble into a puddle, you can watch the ripple that is created slowly fade out. Continue repeating it for 10 - 15 minutes.
When you direct your mind toward calm waters, life will sail more smoothly. If you have an unpleasant feeling, simply acknowledge it, then move on to more fulfilling ideas. Don't give power to negativity. Remember that gratitude is a song of the heart waiting for you to listen.
Much Love,
Lindsay
