Workshop Description

In this course we will explore the anatomy and biomechanics of yoga postures so that the teacher can better guide the student into the asana with greater alignment, ease, and joy. Lindsay brings her deep knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and therapeutic yoga and weaves into the teaching of yoga and the deconstruction of assisting. We will explore anatomy and alignment of yoga postures, how to assist students to guide them further into postures such as twists, backbends, sidebends. We will learn how to guide students into inversions. In this course, we will also learn how to modify poses and use props to allow to go deeper in an asana or to experience a pose that may be challenging for them. With the knowledge of the anatomy of a pose, the teacher will be able to truly make yoga accessible to every body.
