It is #GratefulFriday
It's #gratefulFriday⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We live in a fast-paced world. It seems like everyone is always in a hurry, there’s never enough time, and we rarely take the time to slow down and take in moments that life offers us. We are always connected to our devices and constantly being buzzed with notifications. No wonder everyone is stressed and, at times, overwhelmed. But what if slowing down could make you less stressed, happier, and more grateful for the life you have?
Slowing down means pausing, being in the moment. It can be taking a break from the daily tasks or finding a few moments to unplug. By slowing down, you allow yourself to be more present. As a result, you can savor the moment instead of rushing through it.
Taking the time to pause can give you a greater gratitude for what you have. Slowing down also gives you time to really savor and enjoy life’s simple pleasures, such as appreciating time with friends, stopping to smell the flowers, or indulging in a good book. However, taking time to appreciate the people and things in our lives helps us to recognize that we have so much to be thankful for.
A powerful tool to help you slowdown is meditation. Let’s practice it now. It doesn’t have to take long. You can make this as long or as short as you would like. The important thing is to try it and to practice it. We’ll use the Sanskrit mantra, “Om Shanti,” which is the mantra of peace, calm, and tranquility. Chanting or silently repeating the Shanti Mantra brings inner as well as outer peace. It calms your mind and the surroundings around you.
Begin to follow your breath in. And follow your breath out. Breathing as gently and slowly as possible. And now silently repeat to yourself “Om Shanti.” Feel the vibration flow with your breath. Stay in this space for a few breaths or for 5 -15 minutes. When you are repeating the mantra, stay in your inner peace for a moment and notice.
Remember you have the tools to slow down, pause, and be present. You’ll be more grateful and find some inner peace.
Much Love,
Lindsay
